Harman Kardon's company history began in 1953 when it introduced its first product to the public, a metric wave receiver. Things got really exciting just one year later when the first hi-fi receiver paved the way for a new age. It was the first product of its type world-wide and was followed in 1958 by the next first of its kind, the stereo receiver.

Just one year later, the company made history by bringing out the world's first tube amplifier. Over the course of the next few years, they made other technological advances as well. With the advent of the world's first cassette recorder with noise suppression in 1970, Harman Kardon yet again made history. Harman Kardon is a company that is always researching new ways to improve and introduced a cassette recorder with auto record level in 1981 to the market. Tuner technology also made an impact and in 1987 came with even more features, such as an automatic station search. Harman Kardon received a very special honor in 1999 when their computer speakers known as “Soundsticks” were awarded for best design. In 2002, well-known automakers began installing the company's audio systems in their models.

Today the company offers a number of devices which will remain eye-catchers for years to come.
