By 2004, the company LaCie had already made a quite a name for itself. Its focus at that time was on creating storage media with a very high level of quality.

After 2004, the development of high-quality products continued at a rapid pace. Desktop hard drives were developed which were first presented to the public on January 8, 2004. On the following day, the company was able to astound the public again by bringing out a hard drive with a capacity of 1 TB. Its other surprises included a new LaCie Ethernet Disk with a capacity of 800 GB, which was to be primarily attractive for small and medium-sized businesses.

The company introduced 20 new products with great success in the year 2005. Five of the products were unveiled right at the beginning of the year, including an LaCie Ethernet Disk which then had a storage capacity of 1 TB. The year 2006 was also marked by more than 20 new products. One of the products introduced to the market was a portable DVD burner with LightScribe. The same day, a portable hard drive was introduced that had a phenomenal storage capacity of 320 GB. Another of their innovations included a network storage solution.

In 2007 and 2008, the company proved that it was not at the end of its developmental innovation in computer technology. In 2007 alone, 27 new products were introduced in total, and, in the following year, the company surpassed its previous years and presented the public with 32 new products. The company has brought out 19 products so far in 2009 and will undoubtedly yet surprise the public this year.

Last but not least, the company has acquired such a reputable name because of the awards a number of its products have received since 2006. One example is the LaCie Little Desk, which received the Product Design Award in 2008. There is no doubt that the company will receive many more awards in the years to come.
