Nero is More than CD Burning Software

Nero

Nero has had its company headquarters in Karlsbad, Germany since 1995. The company is named for the Roman emperor Nero who was allegedly responsible for the burning of Rome.

Nero's company history has been marked by success from its very beginnings. Just two years after being founded, there were already three versions of Nero Burning ROM, followed by the next versions in 1998 and 2000.

After such success, it was not long until a subsidiary in the United States was opened just a few years later. The subsidiary, founded in 2001, is located in Glendale, California. Just three years later, another subsidiary was founded in Yokohama, Japan. Other product highlights that came about in the following years include Nero Mobile.

Another subsidiary was opened in HangZhou, China for the Asian region. However, the success story does not stop there for Germany. In 2009 two companies were founded: Nero Development and Services GmbH and Nero EMEA Sales GmbH. More interesting developments are bound to occur in the future as well.

The newest version of the software for Nero Media Home 4 is now available to users.
