T-Home
The company T-Home belongs to the Telekom corporate group. However, before this company could be founded, technological advances dating back over 160 years had to be made. Things finally got going with the advent of the telegraph, which was developed in 1840, although it did not really become international for the public until 1860. Only six years later, America and Europe were connected via the transatlantic telegraph cable.
The telephone, invented by Alexander Graham Bell, entered the picture in the year 1877. The development was driven on at a great speed and in the subsequent years calls were first connected by hand - a few years later telephone operators were also employed.
Further development occured in the next few years which led to the patenting of the automatic telephone exchange system, and the first two-motion selector was also used in this time. At the end of the 20th century, public space would also change in appearance as Wilhelm Quante developed the telephone booth. At the time, the telephone operater was the only way to connect calls. A new time period was broached in Detroit, Michigan in 1921 when the first police cars were able to receive important information via radio paging. These messages were not able to be answered, however. Just five years later, using a telephone in the train became possible.
In 1949, there was a change in the postal system in both German countries. On the one hand, the Deutsche Bundespost (German Federal Mail) came to be and, on the other hand, the postal ministery as well as the postal administration begain their work.
The telephone operator had served the people for many years, but in the year 1955 connecting calls by hand was phased out. By this time it was possible to dial calls personally – even overseas. What today seems quite everyday with cellular phone networks actually has its beginnings in the year 1958. That was when the first cellular phone network came about, which only allowed for only 10,000 users.
Further development led from the launch of the first news satellite around 1960 to fiberglass cables. Six years later the use of telephone operators was officially a thing of the past. The Arpanet, a scientific military invention, appeared, which was the predecessor of today's Internet. Just a short time later, the first e-mail was sent.
The second cellular phone network was launched in 1972, enabling parties to be reached directly. In order to do this, however, one had to know exactly where the desired party was located. Another important development leading up to the founding of the company was videotex, first introduced to the public in the year 1977 – its normal use and its benefits, however, were not available until 1984.
Over the years more and more users had begun using cellular phone networks and by 1985 the number of users had reached 850,000. This promted the launch of the next network. Four years later in the historic year of 1989, ISDN technogoly was introduced. As a digital universal network, it was possible to transfer pictures, text, language and data. The developments kept being made, and the Internet turned out not to be the only thing that interested the public.
The company was quickly and increasingly shaped by new developments and new product categories in the following years, and eventually two large companies appeared: T-Mobile and T-Home. These both offer a wide array of offers for private customers. The launch of T-Home came about on June 1, 2007 and private customers then had access to a number of interesting offers.
