Zyxel is one of the leading manufacturers of products relating to broadband Internet, and Zyxel is a big name in wireless LAN, switches, routers and much more.

The company began its journey in 1989, when it was founded in Taiwan by Dr. Shun-I Chu. Only two years later, its first milestone was marked by the development of the company's first modem – the first of many. The technological advances continued and led to its first ISDN router. At the same time in 1996, its first overseas branch was opened in the United States.

Another milestone followed in 1998, when the first branch in Europe was opened in Denmark. The exclusive Zyxel Network Operating System (ZyNOS) was developed in the same year.

With the advent of broadband, a new world was opened up to Zyxel in 1999. Around the same time, the company brought out the first ASDL router that began supporting the network protocol PPP over Ethernet.

After the first formation of a branch office in the great land of China in the year 2001, the company entered the switch market. In 2003 and 2004 the company became one of the top ten Taiwanese companies in the world.

Today the company's image is defined by its offers of broadband solutions and network components. Zyxel is always on the lookout for new ideas to further online communication.
