Audio and video files in the diverse world of the Internet are increasingly becoming more substantial and informative. By streaming media it is now possible to play files without much loading time by just playing them directly while they load to the computer.

A streaming server is a server that is set up solely to utilize the network for streaming media files. These servers can differentiated as general streaming media servers or specialized streaming audio servers.

Information from different sources are made available on the device – no matter if they are live streams or other videos that contain special information. It is no longer necessary to personally attend live events.

Streaming is also becoming more important for mobile devices, especially evident in the last few years with UMTS technology which has made working significantly easier.
